I started my career with a full time position at Alberta Hospital Edmonton. Here I provided nutrition intervention to clients in adult/geriatric/ forensic psychiatry. I then worked at the University of Alberta Hospital where I provided coverage in the following areas: CVICU, Surgery, ENT, Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopedics, ALS Clinic, Stroke Clinic, Eating Disorders Program, and Psychiatry. My journey then continued into a role with Education Resources with Alberta Health Services where I helped develop new provincial nutrition education resources and workshops.
In October 2012 I took a position at the Edmonton Adult Bariatric Surgery Clinic/Bariatric Revision Clinic at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Here I work with clients educating them about bariatric surgery and I also provide nutrition counseling on weight management, emotional eating, binge eating and disordered eating. I have completed my Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management via Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
I possess thorough knowledge to provide optimal nutrition support across the life span. I have strong interpersonal and communication skills developed by working with people from diverse backgrounds.
My stance is that ALL foods fit in MODERATION. I love helping clients achieve their goals in making lifestyle changes that can change their lives in a positive way. I strive for continual learning and evolving and my goal is to provide recommendations for achieving and maintaining healthier habits based on current nutrition research. I take a collaborative approach when helping clients improve their health and well being. I truly believe it is never too late or never too early to work towards being a healthier you. I look forward to meeting you!
