Counselling for Children, ADOLESCENTS, PARENTS & families

Throughout my time as an educator over the last 8 years, I have grown knowledgeable about applying effective strategies to support emotional regulation to enhance student learning and social development. I have experience working with students affected by neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Mental health strategies are a foundational component of my teaching, and I am excited to transfer these skills in a therapeutic space to support your child’s development.

When working with children, my approach is interactive, engaging and meaningful. I bring aspects of play-based therapy, art-based therapy, and sandtray therapy.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in compassion, with a modern and scientific spin on mindfulness to guide you in processing emotions and coping with anxiety and stress. The fundamentals of positive neuroplasticity inspire me to support others in finding hope and creating a new internal reality.

I will collaborate with you to create a therapeutic alliance that is trustworthy, respectful, and genuine. I intend to provide a non-judgmental environment for you to show up as you are and will gain a holistic understanding of your story through honest curiosity. Together, we will find an impactful path to healing your past that renews your connection and trust with your authentic self. I will support you through your challenges by acknowledging and honouring your strengths to guide you inwards. This client-centered approach will support you in enhancing your self-awareness and empower you to create the sustainable changes you seek.

I support clients in dealing with body image issues, self-esteem and confidence, emotional regulation, depression, anxiety and stress. I believe in integrating effective, evidence-based strategies that align with your goals. Some therapeutic interventions I use include Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness, Self-Compassion Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I am constantly expanding my knowledge and adding new techniques to my toolbox. I am registered to become an EMDR therapist and plan to get certified in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Somatic Experiencing Therapy.

a bit about me

therapy edmonton

I enjoy making yoga my daily meditation practice and spend the rest of my day connecting with others in the classroom or clinic. I love boxing, reading a good book, experimenting with new recipes, and sipping fresh coffee. Spending time outside hiking and travelling nurtures my spirit. I recently discovered that I love wake surfing!
