Counselling for Children, Teens & Parents

therapy edmonton

I have been providing mental health counselling to childrenadolescents, and parents for the last 6 years. I absolutely love what I do and I believe that, with the right supports, all children and adolescents can participate meaningfully at home, school, and in the community. Common concerns that I help with include: ADHD, anxiety, self-harm, depression, oppositional or defiant behaviours, anger, emotional regulation,  and parent-child relationship issues.

I’ve been interested in working with children, adolescents, and parents for as long as I can remember. I completed my Bachelor of Arts with a major in psychology at the University of Alberta, where I took a keen interest in developmental psychology. Following that, I completed my Master of Counselling from City University of Seattle- Edmonton Campus. My practicum placement was completed at a psychiatric day program, where my love of working with families was affirmed.

You and your child will appreciate my openness, sense of humour, and playfulness. Our relationship will be collaborative, with you creating the goals you’d like to achieve during our time together.

Counselling for adults

In addition to working with youth, I enjoy helping adults learn to cope with various mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, chronic pain, body image, and self-esteem. I approach therapy with curiosity, collaboration, and compassion. I believe in providing integrated and evidence-based therapy, drawing upon Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFT), Parent Management Training, mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Additionally, I enjoy working closely with schools and universities by providing strategies to support success in the classroom. I will be offering psycho-educational assessments in the near future.

I value adventure, creativity, joy, and wellness. My time outside of the office is spent hiking, practicing yoga, painting, and spending time with friends discussing our latest Netflix binges.
