The goal of Occupational Therapy at Solace Psychology & Wellness, South Edmonton, is to increase independence and well-being. Your child will learn effective social and psychomotor skills that foster positive peer relationships and enhanced confidence for optimal development and success in the community.
Our Pediatric Occupational Therapists are skilled with assessing and improving fine and gross motor skills that are necessary for a positive lifestyle. Skills will focus on improving coordination, strength, and positioning when utilizing certain objects or completing tasks, such as using utensils when eating or writing in a journal.
Your child will learn helpful coping skills that promote emotional and behavioural regulation, allowing them to adjust their energy level and actions. They will also learn how to proactively adjust to environmental changes and control their responses if they become overstimulated.

Occupational Therapy can help you foster independence in activities of daily living, such as personal care, cooking, and completing important errands. Other areas of focus can include improving motor skills and cognitive abilities, as well as introducing the proper use of home equipment.
Motor vehicle accidents can have detrimental effects on one’s physical, emotional and mental health. Our Occupational Therapists specialize in reducing driving anxiety, enhancing mental clarity and memory, improving physical strength and mobility, and overall recovery from concussions and traumatic brain injuries.

We have a specialized Occupational Therapy program to assess workplace barriers, provide work accommodations, and formulate return to work plans to assist with a successful return to work. We will work with you to reduce stress and anxiety, enhance attention and memory abilities, boost confidence, and improve job performance.
